Tower Crawling, Extra Life, and Otter Hijinks

As I get ready for the first day on the new job (Yay! And to be clear, this is a second job. No way am I leaving the humane society.), thought I’d do a quick update here.

TSW and Orochi Tower

My gaming has been more focused on The Secret World than it was for a bit there. It’s one thing I love about the game, that I can take a break without falling behind but when I come back there’s always plenty to do. I’ve been trying to hit Orochi Tower daily, since I still need to complete some achievements there. I very much want that Lorentzian Fabricator v2 and I still find the levels enjoyable enough to not mind replaying them. (I’m hoping for those secret levels someday, there’s that, too.) There’s still a few levels I haven’t seen yet so I’m still finding all kinds of awesome details.

True to my post about Challenges, I’m only doing them sporadically. I had some free time last night and spent a few hours revisiting old missions to get my 15 weekly missions done. I also cleaned up a few lore pieces I was still missing on Solomon Island and one mission I’d paused and never gotten back to (The Ghost and the Darkness).

I caught a lovely line of dialogue I’d completely forgotten about in Savage Coast that places the Chipmunk Killer from The Park quite definitely within the TSW ingame lore. This is from the mission cutscene for Themepark Tycoon:

Streaming and Extra Life

I was lucky enough to have a few hours to run with Otterdown on their stream last Saturday. The video is up on Youtube, and it was hilariously fun as always. Plus, we met the team goal of $3000 for Extra Life! This means not only are we raising the goal, but Jennet, Reeshie, and I made good on our promise to dye our ingame hair pink. Jennet and I have never altered our character’s base appearance (*other than when I added the Death makeup) but Extra Life is definitely worth it.

I’m sitting about halfway to my personal goal, which is also quite awesome. 🙂 (*cough* Donate here or read more about it here.)

I’ve started experimenting with overlays for my own stream. I’m still planning on costreaming the 24 hour marathon on November 7, and also hoping to manage at least a few smaller streams in the meantime. Taking a second job makes that a bit tougher for me, but I’ll see what I can do. I also still have a copy of The Park and a copy of TSW’s base game (thanks again to Sezmra and Funcom customer service!) to give away at some point. I may be adding a few other surprises, too.
