I (she/her) originally started LFGryph because two of my passions are writing and video games. I’m currently in my early 40’s, working on a fantasy novel, and enjoy gaming, livestreaming, and caring for the community cats in my neighborhood. I work at an animal shelter that’s part of a No-Kill Community. The job is highly stressful at times, but also highly rewarding. I’m ADHD and part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

My partner Nash and I own four indoor cats – Grady (big floofy toasted marshmallow Ragdoll), Lumi (spicy little calico I brought home from my shelter), Charlie (a cow cat TNR kitty who wanted to be an inside kitty), and Hamlet (a solid black cat TNR kitty who also wanted to be an inside kitty). We care for multiple TNR’d community cats who frequent our porch – originally mostly notably the tabbies Calvin, Hobbes, and Susie but now with the additions of Claudius, Garfield, Chessie, and “Charlie’s Brother.” We used to have a wonderful lab/hound mix named Loki before we lost him to cancer, and do plan on adopting another dog someday…once we sort out all these cats… I also own a gargoyle gecko named Ember.

The first console my family owned was a Nintendo when I was just a little thing. I moved into PC gaming more than console right around the N64, though I do technically own a Wii, WiiU, Xbox One, and PS4. I’ve been playing a decent amount on my Switch since it came out, and I have an Oculus Quest 2 that I sometimes play on.

For MMO’s, The Secret World/Secret World Legends is a great favorite of mine and the love I keep returning to. I used to play DC Universe Online regularly and keep meaning to spend more time in Final Fantasy XIV. I was heavily into Minecraft on the Video Games Awesome server years ago. More recently, I’ve been doing a lot more single player games on Switch and Steam.

Types of games I enjoy include anything from story-based adventure and RPG’s to survival horror and cozy games.  I tend to go for story over other things, but that’s not a hard and fast rule if the mechanics are awesome. Unsurprisingly, I love games with animals.

I’ll read just about anything, but I lean towards fantasy, sci fi, and horror. My traditional answer to favorite book questions is Watership Down, though choosing just one book is frankly ridiculous.

I once blogged Five Things You Might Not Know About Gryph.

I can be contacted through the social media buttons on my sidebar (I’m primarily using Bluesky at the moment).

Update: Cat pics! 😀

Grady – a flame point Ragdoll kitty looks quizzically out from his blanket fort in Nash’s studio.
Lumi – a short hair calico cat helps me stream. She is sitting on the arm of my chair as we both look at the camera. There’s various trackers on screen as this screenshot was taken while I was doing a charity fundraiser for my animal shelter.
Charlie Chaplin – a short hair black and white cat with the hint of a mustache is dozing in my lap. His feet are in the air and he doesn’t care that he’s blocking my keyboard. Charlie was supposed to be another community cat, but he decided against that.
Calvin – an ear tipped short hair brown tabby vibes on top of the recycle bin. He is clearly living his best life.
Susie, Hobbes, and Calvin (left to right) – three tabbies in shades of brown, grey, and white hang out on our porch. Two of them are bathing. Hobbes isn’t ear tipped yet in this pic, but they’ve all been through TNR now.
Loki – bonus shot of my heart dog. He was a black lab/hound mix and is staring up at the camera with an open mouthed grin on his face. He was the best boy. ❤
Ember – bonus shot of my gargoyle gecko before he was full sized. He’s orange and brown with light blue eyes, and is licking his nose.
