More site update goodness, yay! I’d planned on a more regular post today, but wanted to make sure folks know about the changes. Plus, I’m pleased with what I’ve done. 🙂
I’ve noticed sometimes the search terms that link to my blog are more likely questions about actual gameplay in The Secret World than readers looking for opinion pieces. Since I’ve yet to write any player guides, I’ve added a TSW Help section to the main menu. This section has helpful links with descriptions for players who are looking for advice. I’ve also added links to some of the other social groups in the game. If readers think of one I’ve missed, let me know and I’ll be sure to add it!
The Secret World
Did I already mention this in an update? If not, I’ve made The Secret World category its own page option on the main menu. It’s my primary game and the one I write the most about. Now those pieces can easily be read all in one place.
I’ve also added a Contact form to the main menu. I sometimes forget not everyone cares to participate in social media, this will give those readers an alternative option to reach me.
I’ve updated the About section to better reflect the current site setup. Ie: I no longer need my Twitter link there when it’s on my Find Me sidebar! I’ve also added in the part where I’m a staff writer for Holosuite Media and added an image of my main TSW character.
Currently Playing/Games List/ Gryph is Playing
Now that I have a few more games covered under Gryph is Playing, I’ve deleted the Currently Playing/Games List page, replacing it with the appropriate category link in the main menu. I much prefer showing off games in this fashion, as I have more space to talk about my experiences. I may be posting more Gryph is Playing articles for a while as I haven’t yet covered all the games I had on my list.
In most of my earlier posts, plus the pages and some more recent posts, I’ve tended to keep my images small to leave the writing more ordered. It was a nice idea, but really not ideal as most people (me included) don’t want to click a picture just to make out what it is. With that in mind, I’ve increased the size of my images in previous posts and adjusted the formatting to accommodate that when possible. Going forward, I’ll be planning my layout to include larger pictures.
And that’s about all I have for updates at the moment. Blaugust is entering its last week. As much as I’ve enjoyed the challenge and opportunity to grow, it will be nice to go back to a more feasible schedule. I expect to write more than once a week, but less than everyday. Even though I’ve been having fun with it, it’s noticeably cut back on my actual gaming time which is less than helpful for a (primarily) gaming blog!
